Digital Signature extension

Digital Signature helps you to sign documents with installed certificates.

The Digital Signature tool based on Java Web Start is deprecated; consider using OpenKM Windows Digital Signature Client.

This option is only available if you have enabled the Digital Signature feature.

You can sign documents in the repository or new documents.

Only PDF documents can be signed or which can be converted to PDF format.

This feature needs to have Java enabled in your browser. For security reasons, the procedures of encrypting and decrypting are always done from the user's computer side.

If you're using a recent version of Google Chrome, keep in mind that Java applets won't work. Please take a look at Browser configuration for more info.

Sign the document in the repository

  • Choose the document.
  • Click on  the Sign document menu option in the tools menu. You will be shown a popup.

  • Choose a certificate.
  • Click on the Sign button.

As part of setting a Digital Signature, a comment "signed" to the document. You can view it from the history tab.

Upload and sign a new document

  • Click on Add document icon.
  • Choose a file from your computer.
  • Check the Sign Document checkbox.
  • Click on Send button.

Digital Signature is incompatible with the "Import document from ZIP" option.
