Shard Migration

This feature helps the administrator move documents and emails to a target shard: a whole folder recursively, everything last modified before a date, or both together. Leaving both empty moves every node in the repository. Moving a node moves all its versions and extracted text, and it works across filesystem and S3 shards in either direction. Not to be confused with Global Content Migration or Shard Backend Migration, which move content between storage backends without changing which shard a node belongs to.

Run a migration

• Select the Target shard.
• Fill in the Folder UUID (optional; leave empty to target the whole repository).
• Enable Include subfolders to move the folder recursively.
• Fill in Last modified before (optional) to only move nodes modified before that date.
• Click the Start button.

Caution

Only one migration can run at a time. The migration runs in the background and can take minutes or hours, depending on the volume of data. The progress page refreshes automatically every 2 seconds, showing Found, Moved, Errors, the current node being processed, and the last error.
